Clinics started by Dr. k. Chandran in Idappadi town in late 1970's, After marriage in 1979, both the doctors settled in the town and started practicing in respective fields.
After years of clinic practice and hard work, Karthic nursing home - a nursing home which would serve the locality for the next 21 years inaugurated in 1986 in 27, Poolampatti road, Idappadi.
The building also had the residence of Dr. Chandran family so that resident practice giving emergency obstetric care and pediatric care became possible. Adjacent building of pediatric op wing and operation theatre started in 1989 and a third annex building with patient rooms constructed in 1993.
Ultrasound machine was installed in 1994 possibly the first in Idappadi and helped the doctors to diagnose the related ailments with the help of visiting Sonologist from Salem.
The three building belonging to Karthic nursing home served the locality to the best of its capacity along with the untiring hard work of Dr. K. Chandran and Dr. Suseela Chandran along with nursing staff team, technicians and office staff saving many lives and given safe delivery and newborn care to thousands of families.
With the vision to have an ICU enabled multi-specialty hospital and due to lack of space in the Poolampatti road locality , the idea of shifting the hospital to a new place in Chinnanachiyur village was discussed and implemented by Dr. Suseela chandran resulting in the end of medical practice in old campus after 21 golden years of service since 1986.
Karthic medical centre was started in 2007 in the rural geography of Idappadi taluk called Chinnanchiyaur village in Kurumpatti panchayat with the intention to serve the public with advanced treatments including ICU critical care which was hitherto not available in this region before.
