The emergency department in KMC functions 24/7 throughout the year in view of the number of emergencies attended and lives saved with thrombolysis and resuscitation.
The emergency department is equipped with a ventilator, defibrillator and ETCO2 monitors, and have a team of emergency physician, paramedic and nurses who enthusiastically and untiringly work in shifts which helps provide the lifesaving critical care
Numerous patients from the neighbouring villages and the Idappadi town come with medical emergencies, trauma, burns, poisoning and other dire life threatening events.
Virtually since the inception of the KMC building in 2007, the ER has never been closed even for a few hours.
We strive to improve and update the department in accordance with latest principles in emergency and critical care medicine.
Karthic medical centre was started in 2007 in the rural geography of Idappadi taluk called Chinnanchiyaur village in Kurumpatti panchayat with the intention to serve the public with advanced treatments including ICU critical care which was hitherto not available in this region before.
